Solar Panels Up!

Friends’ member Chet Meyers helps us complete this project

Big thanks to electrician Billy and “solar guy” Damian for their hard work in installing this complicated (to me) system. This winter we will be able to turn on our LED lights (when necessary), run our TV with the Owls to Orchids video running, and even bake cookies in the oven! And the solar panels are gorgeous! They are a high end panel (made in Minnesota!) specially designed for heavy snow and ice. Friends member Chet Meyers helped finalize this project by being the liaison between the installers and Friends of Sax-Zim Bog. The squeaky wheel INDEED does get the grease! Here are some photos from the Welcome Center installation.
