Activities at this tract:

Birding, photography, and naturalist activities. Bird feeders at this property during the winter. Auggie’s Bog Boardwalk as well as hiking/snowshoeing trails starting at end of boardwalk. Information about trails can be found here.

Greater Fringed Gentian is quite uncommon in the area and we are lucky to have a population at this property!

Species of Interest: 

Greater Fringed Gentian and Great Lakes Gentian; Pink Ladyslipper, Loesel’s Twayblade, Ragged-fringed, and Purple-fringed Orchids; Black-billed Magpie, Canada Jay, and winter finches during winter; interesting insect diversity.

Parking: 

Roadside along Fermoy Road (Don’t pull over too far as it is easy to get stuck in winter.)

Signage: 

Auggie’s Bog Boardwalk at trailhead. Hiking/snowshoeing trailhead, loop intersection, and directional signage present. Trails also flagged.

Location: 

Along Fermoy Road just south of George Road and north of Zim Road. The property is located on the east side of the road (See Birding Map).

 Directions:

Trailhead- 47.312362, -92.620133

From Highway 7: Head west on Zim Road. From Zim Road, turn right on to Fermoy Road (Cty 311). Continue north on Fermoy Road (Cty 311) for .42 miles. The trailhead will be on the east side of the road.
