Sax-Zim Bog Winter Bird Festival
**UPDATE AUGUST 2021: The Toivola-Meadowlands Board (the folks that put on the Festival) have decided to end the 11-year run of the Sax Zim Bog Winter Bird Festival. With the loss of several key board members and no new folks joining the effort, running the event has become more difficult and time consuming. Therefore the Board has decided to discontinue the event effective immediately. Thanks to all those who have participated over the years!
Friends of Sax-Zim Bog has gladly supported this event by coordinating the field trips and arranging the speakers over the years, but our main mission is land preservation and education. In addition to our differing priorities, FOSZB does not have the people-power nor local knowledge to continue this Festival on our own. Though not a replacement for the festival, Friends of Sax-Zim Bog will continue to offer field trips and promote local guides who provide folks unfamiliar with the area access to expert bird guides.More information at the SAX-ZIM Winter Bird Festival Website
